ETDA is the official training provider to deliver RPL (Recognition Prior Learning) in the area of Hospitality in Timor-Leste.

If you are applying for RPL, then you may already have some of the necessary skills and knowledge to obtain credit for part of the course units of competency.

You may apply for recognition in any part of the hospitality course unit of competency that you believe you may already have the necessary skills and knowledge. ETDA will support you in this process and will engage with you to enable you to navigate through the RPL process. Please note that any training gaps that are identified from discussions between the candidate and ETDA Recognition Coordinator and/or Assessor, must be completed as agreed.

About RPL
ETDA’s RPL is a process to obtain formal recognition of competencies, skills and knowledge you have acquired. There are people who have worked effectively for many years in professions and have all the required skills and knowledge but have no formal qualifications for that role. If you are one of those people, you can benefit from the RPL process. To assess the skills and knowledge you already have for RPL, we can consider:

  • paid or unpaid work part-time, full-time or casual work
  • experience in Timor-Leste and overseas
  • on-the-job training

You may also have developed valuable skills by working for a community or voluntary organisation or through other life experiences such as hobbies, sport and leisure activities. Life experience gained through these different areas may be recognized as meeting some of your course
assessment requirements.
